About Valley Way Kennels
Valley Way Kennel is a full-service Boykin Spaniel breeder and training facility based in the beautiful Tennessee Valley of Huntsville, Alabama serving families all over the country. Valley Way Boykins provide the perfect compliment to a family with the sporting lifestyle whether it is Waterfowling, Upland Hunting, Outdoor Adventure Dogs or family service dogs.
Our selective breeding process allows us to provide the healthiest litter possible giving them the best life they deserve. All of our scheduled breeding's are verified by a Veterinarian and ALL health clearances are passed prior to including; Hips, Eyes, Heart and Genetics.
Our training process is unlike any in the country. We pride ourselves in the programs that we teach and we believe in the Low Force, Positive reinforcement for your dogs ability to learn. We take on a very low number of clients at a time giving your dog the most attention possible during their semester at Valley Way. Our training program not only involves the dogs but the owner as well. With frequent training visits from our owners we are able to teach not only the dog but you as well.
Michael Barnes
Head Trainer
Michael grew up a Huntsville native, up until college where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in Building Science as well as a double minor in Business, and Sustainability from Auburn University.
Post graduation, Michael served as an associate trainer for a local trainer where he would eventually establish Valley Way in 2017.
Michael founded Valley Way Kennels out of the desire to provide a one stop shop for premium Boykin Spaniels. Michael has been an avid hunter for years and understands what it means to have a high performance companion with you in the field.
Anna Grace Watkins
As represented by this picture, Anna Grace is the one who helps hold Valley Way together. Anna Grace grew up in the small town of Fayetteville, Alabama where she eventually attended Auburn University. Following her bachelors degree from Auburn University, she attended grad school at the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB), where she received her degree as a Physician Assistant specializing in Hematology Oncology. While this might seem distant from the dog business, she is extremely involved in the feeding, airing and general house obedience for our dogs in training as well as puppy introductions.
Jake Webster
Originally from Ft Walton Beach, Florida, Jake relocated to Huntsville Alabama in 2021 where he grew his passion for the outdoors and hunting. That passion grew to Boykin Spaniels where he received his first puppy “Tacho” from Valley Way in 2021.
He currently serves the role of Associate Trainer in which he works directly with Michael to aid in the the entire training process of our dogs. Jake has an exceptional work ethic and refuses to have a negative attitude to any challenge. We are lucky to have him on board!
